TACVPO Board Positions

Officers are to be elected annually at a business meeting of the Association. Nominees shall be required to be active members. Holding a position is rewarding and will require dedicated time away from normal responsibilities therefore, you will need approval from your institution before accepting a nomination. A re-elected board member may serve up to three years in one position.  A Board member may be reimbursed for trips or expenses incurred on behalf of the Association subject to full Board approval, available funds and proper receipts.

President

The President presides at all meetings of the Board of Directors and the association and performs such other duties as pertains to the office of President. He or she shall be a member Ex Officio of all committees.  He or she shall submit an annual report to the Board of Directors and the association.  The annual report shall be available to members on the TACVPO website.

First Vice President

The First Vice President shall assist the President. In the absence or disability of the President, he/she shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of the President.  As of February 2017, will maintain the role of webmaster and assist with communications.  He or she assists with conference planning and duties as assigned. 

Second Vice President

The Second Vice President shall assist the President. In the absence or disability of the President and the First Vice President, he/she shall have all the powers and shall perform all the duties of the President.  He or She will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing subcommittees. He or she shall assists with conference planning and duties as assigned. 

Secretary

The Secretary shall keep minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors and the Association and perform other duties as required.  He or she shall assists with conference planning and duties as assigned. 

Treasurer

 The Treasurer shall be responsible for receiving and distributing the funds of the Association according to the policies set up by the Board of Directors. They will also present at conference business meetings a detailed financial report.  He or she assists with conference planning and duties as assigned.

Past President – Ex Officio

The Past President will be on the Board of Directors and advises the Board members.

These appointments are selected on a volunteer basis when the next conference has been voted on.

Planning Committees

Planning committees will consist of one representative from the following four year private, four year public, two year and NCD institutions, who will act as the advisor for each area.

Local Arrangement Committee

Local Arrangement Committee will coordinate with available hotels, catering, special events, transportation and other conference needs at the conference venue and present the board of directors with bids on all areas.

All positions are open for nomination. Current officers may hold a position for three years if re-elected. If you are interested in holding a position on the Board and have institution/supervisor approval, please complete the ballot by Feb 25, 2025. Once received, we will post the nominations on this site. Eric Matthews will contact you to request a picture to attach to your nomination.
